Childhood Cancer: Why Me? Why Her? Why Us?

When your child is diagnosed with cancer, the practical help you but yourself "why" questions can ask all kinds.

You scrape your brain to figure out why your child has cancer that millions of other children are not trying to? The fluorinated water we had to have kids thinking it was good for them? The fertility drugs that I took while trying to conceive? It was prednisone doctor told me I had to take in order to maintain the pregnancy? Why I will not be forced to eat more fruits and vegetables?

So I went on spiritual questions. This is why God would allow a child to do?Why did not we have more warning before we could get caught? Why us? We are good people. We have nothing. We tried to take good care of our children and upstanding people in the community.

The girl was diagnosed in September 2007. I ask you to continue to this day, many of these questions.

I vividly remember a conversation with a close friend and spiritual advisor had been diagnosed shortly after the girl. I remember asking him "how God could allow him to do so?" His answer was brief but powerful and I will never forget it.

"God is crying with you," she said. He continues to remind me that God has given us all free will. As a result, we sadly pollution and threats that harm us (our children) to have the ability to live in a fallen world filled. He can not save all of us.

One of the most difficult situations for me when people told me they were praying for her miracle girl. I am a woman of deep faith. Sadly, however, I believe that my daughter's body scan to multitudes of the tumor was not suddenly going to disappear. Then offers the prayer is often bother me. Comfort, peace, and prayed for the pain-free days were more welcoming. But how do you say to someone?
